Dentistry and Covid-19; routine treatment.
Dear patients, the guidance changes daily for us all so things will inevitably change far faster than we can inform you, however at the moment we can see emergencies, check ups and certain treatments including some orthodontic treatments for those showing no signs of the virus or not in self isolation. We will ask you on arrival to use the hand sanitiser provided, politely ask that you attend alone, or anyone who attends with you wait in their car to keep the number of people in the building to a minimum. For reassurance, from Monday we will temperature check all staff and patients on arrival for everyone’s safety. Certain treatments have been suspended during the pandemic and we may need to cancel your treatment in accordance with the latest guidance. We will advise you of this by telephone as soon as possible.
Dentistry and Covid-19; Emergancy treatment.
If you have traveled abroad in the last 14 days, have been in close contact with someone who is showing symptoms of Coronavirus or have been asked to self isolate because someone in your household has symptoms, we cannot see you in the practice. If you have a dental emergency please call NHS 111 and they will direct you to a designated dental treatment facility.
If you have been diagnosed with Coronavirus we cannot see you. In this instance please call our local Health Protection Team on 0114 3211177 who will advise you of the nearest hospital or specialty unit to go to.
If you are experiencing dental pain and showing symptoms of Coronavirus please do NOT take ibuprofen as this may potentially make your Coronavirus symptoms worse.
For Emergency dental care for people who do not have symptoms of Coronavirus AND do not live with someone who is showing symptoms then please call the practice as normal on 01709 709 777 and we will be very happy to help.
Please check online at gov.uk and nhs.uk for advice on your travel and contact history and the latest COVID-19 information before attending the practice. Stay safe everyone and lets look after one another by avoiding contact wherever possible.
