Itero® Scanner – Digital Dentistry.

Introducing our new iTero® intraoral digital scanner!! Say goodbye to dental impressions with new state of the art digital technology at One44 Dental!! We absolutely love it and our patients do too! No more need for messy impressions, the scanner gives us a precise 3D model of your teeth and gums that is then used for treatment planning, orthodontic appliances, Invisalign®, crowns, bridges, implants and much more! We especially love the time lapse feature, a great feature for showing our patients how their teeth have changed over a duration of time; Be that for the better, such as when you have had teeth straightening or a restorative Smile Makeover, or for worse as teeth begin to wear or crowd with age. The scanner also helps us to reduce our carbon footprint by reducing the amount of plastic impression tray waste, impression material waste, and fuel pollution we produce.  The future of digital dentistry is here!!

National smile month 2019

National Smile Month is back!!!…which means so is our dental role play area for our younger patients and visitors !! National Smile month 2019 runs from 13th May to the 13th June. As always it highlights three key messages, all of which go a long way in helping us develop and maintain a healthy mouth. They are:-
• Brush your teeth last thing at night and on at least one other occasion with a fluoride toothpaste.
• Cut down on how much sugary food and drink you consume and how often you have them.
• Visit your dentist regularly, as often as they recommend.
Ultimately, the aim is to help us achieve good physical and mental well-being by improving our oral health. Look out for our posts on our Facebook and Instagram pages over the next few weeks to promote this fabulous month of raising awareness of the importance of dental health!

TePe Environmental Recycling Initiative.

The impact of plastics on our environment is of major concern and as such we all need to take steps wherever possible to reduce the amount of plastic waste going into landfill. As we know, interdental cleaning is imperative to Oral Health, so how can we dispose of oral hygiene products responsibly? At One44 Dental we applied for, and were chosen to take part in, the TePe pilot recycling initiative. This is a pilot scheme aimed at getting dental practices and patients on board to encourage the recycling of TePe interdental brushes. Currently in the UK we cannot recycle any products composed of more than one element, toothbrushes and interdental brushes fall into this category. Please save your used interdental brushes and drop them into our practice recycling bin, which is located on the back of reception, at each visit to the practice. We will then send the products to be incinerated to produce steam for heat & electricity, and bottom ash which will then be used to Tarmac roads. Please help us in this scheme if you can. Together each small step helps protect our planet. Further information can be found in our TERI recycling scheme information booklet located in our waiting room. Thank you for your help with this scheme, the One44 Dental team.

It sat on reception with pride of place before being framed (as promised to the children at their request!) and displayed on the wall in surgery two. Thank you so much children we LOVE it!!
